When we write about events that have not happened yet, we use the future tense. In Grade 5, students learn two main ways to signal the future: using will before a base verb and using a form of going to before a base verb. Both patterns are common in school writing, and knowing when each sounds natural helps students communicate more clearly. This worksheet moves from recognition to application. Students begin by finding future tense verb phrases in sentences, then choose the correct form in multiple-choice questions, and finally correct errors before composing an original sentence.
